If your pet is experiencing any of the injuries or illnesses listed below, please make sure to call a veterinarian or your local emergency animal hospital ASAP first. If your pet has an illness that cannot be treated at home, Dr. Alley may recommend an emergency care hospital where further diagnostics and instruments are available. Injuries & Illnesses Considered as a Pet Emergency: 
  • The Pet Is in a Coma
  • The Pet Is Involved in a Car Accident
  • The Pet Has Uncontrolled Bleeding
  • The Pet Is Unwilling or Unable to Eat or Drink
  • The Pet Has a Bite Wound or Burn Injury
  • The Pet Has an Abnormal Heart Rate or Rhythm
  • The Pet Is Having Trouble Walking or Has Loss of Balance
  • The Pet Has Had Gastric Torsion or Bloat in the Past and Is Trying to Vomit, but Is Unable to Vomit (Breeds Such as German Shepherds, Great Danes, Saint Bernards, and Others Are Prone to It)
  • The Pet Has Seizure or Epilepsy
  • The Pet Is Straining to Defecate
  • The Pet Is Having Difficulty Breathing 
  • The Pet Is Having Trouble Urinating or Is Not Producing Urine

  • The animal has severe diarrhea or the animal has sever bloody diarrhea
  • Parvo disease can be devastating, but we can help.
  • The pet animal is vomiting several times
  • The pet animal has toxicity of any form
  • The pet animal got into trash and is acting abnormal
  • The pet animal has heat stroke or overheating
  • The pet animal is giving birth and is straining for 30 to 60 minutes or more
  • If your pet animal needs more treatment than what can be done at home, Dr Sean Alley will recommend to bring your pet to Beach-Garfield Veterinary Hospital.
  • At Beach-Garfield Veterinary Hospital your pet will be able to get more care than at home, like x rays or surgery if needed.

other conditions.
  • if your puppy is diagnosed with Parvo, the puppy will need immediate Treatments. 
  • if your pet is vomiting stop food asap, give only water for a few hours. your pet may or may not need x rays. we will need to see your pet to find out. 
  • in case of diarrhea. you should continue to give your pet food and water and schedule an appoint to get some treatments done.
  • Eating grass is not good for your pet. The grass might have dirt, urine, feces, parasites, fertilizers, all those are not good for your pet.

if we are coming to see your cat at home, please keep your cat ins a pet carrier, if no carrier available please keep them in a small room like a laundry room or a bathroom. 
if we are coming to see your dog please keep them on a leash inside your home or in your backyard.
